If youassure someonethat something is true or will happen, you tell them that it is definitely true or will definitely happen, often in order to make them less worried.

1. assure是及物动词,可接名词或代词(不可接that从句)作简单宾语。
2. assure可接双宾语,这时表物的宾语须由介词of引出; 表人的宾语如置于表物的宾语后,则须由介词to(而非for)引出,如置于表物的宾语之前,则不必搭配介词。
3. assure后接表物的宾语时,可由that从句或动词不定式充当。

1. assure指“使……确信”，不是指“确信”，因此，在使用时要注意在前面加上助动词。

   I am assured that he is honest.
   不可以直接说I assure his honesty。

2. 涉及到“保险”时，我们习惯用insure，而不是assure，如insure her car。不过assure也有指“保险”的意思，如assure her life指“为她保人寿险”；
3. 在指“确保”时，ensure的用法比assure更加普遍。

4. Life assurance通常是指到了指定日期或死亡所支付的特定金额的保险，而insurance通常带一定的风险性，若是在指定的日期内没有死亡，过了那个日期死亡的话，是不会得到保险赔偿的。
